Proporta UX50 Book Type Leather Case

The day after I received my UX50 a Proporta UX50 book type case arrived on my doorstep, along with the now traditional packets of tea from Chloe:)

To me, walking around with a PDA in no case feels the same as walking through the streets in just a pair of socks... This will not be a long review as this case is basically the same as the NX73/80 case I reviewed a month ago, except that this one is sized perfectly for the UX50.

It has a button closure and only 2 credit card slots (to be fair the tiny size of the UX causes this). I carry 4 credit cards, stamps and a few receipts in these pockets and they work well. There are also 2 memory stick pockets should you need them.

Add to the above a VERY useful slot-in cover that not only protects the front of the UX but also gives an extra space for money etc. and you have an extremely practical case.

The real bonus is it's size which, whilst mainly down to the PDA, is also a direct result of the case's design- it is a superbly compact effort which offers excellent protection (inside and out) and still manages to look the part.

It's good enough that I will not be thinking of replacing it as it does the job so well. This was proved today whilst out shopping with my wife- a case that allows easy extraction of cards and money is a big bonus when you are also trying to drag a 3 year old around toy shops:)

The locking mechanism to hold the Clie is particularly well thought out and is a joy to use.

The only change I would like to see is some more variety from Proporta- the colour 'black' gets a bit dull after a while and although it will never look out of place a nice brown leather effort would be nice.

PROS

Build quality
Value for money (£19.95 is silly!)
Practicality (space for cards etc.)
Looks

CONS

Would like to see more colour options

I will be away for a few days soon and will use the time to see how good Proporta's Roadwired Pod is- review will be up soon:)
