Why the Clie? Why do you write about the Clie on Memoware in preference to other Palm devices?
First, I own a Clie device and I guess that is a good reason as any. Seriously, I enjoy innovation and Sony has done a great job innovating period. Also, Sony has made the Palm community a bit more interesting.
What PDA do you currently use and why?
I use aClie 760C and high resolution is the key here. Can't go back to low resolution devices once you get exposed to high. MP3 player doesn't hurt.
What one feature are the current line up of PDAs missing- what would you like to see in the future?
My dream device right now would be a small integrated portable device with a great high resolution screen and cell phone. Sony T665C comes close but it doesn't have the cell phone capability.
If you were a door to door PDA salesman what 3 features would you enthuse about the most to get a sell?
1. Portability and Flexibility (sorry I've cheated here) 2. High resolution color screen (such as NR70 or T665) -- show them pictures 3. Games for non-business and Office Suite for business customers
What's the best film you have ever seen and why?
Chariots of Fire, Cinema Paradiso, The Bicycle Thief. Can't rank them even if you asked them.
What is your day job?
I'm a management professor.
Pocket PC, Sony or Palm- who do you think will dominate the future PDA industry or is there room for another player?
Palm OS is poised for success. I've been hearing how Palm OS is doomed ever since it was released in 96, but it keeps on ticking. Simplicity and portability are two keys that Palm succeeds where Pocket PC fails. Sony is going to be a major playing in Palm OS.
What do your friends/colleagues think of your PDA and have you managed to pursuade anyone to buy one?
I have convinced a handful of people (can't count with my fingers any more if that's any clue). I have in fact convinced at least 5 people to buy Sony over Palm in the last several months.
Who will win the Football World Cup (if you don't like football just say)?
Hey, Hey. That's the advantage of answering this late. Brazil will definitely win. However, I was impressed with South Korea and Turkey. Can't believe how people in Korea and Turkey got excited over their football success. BTW, the US must be the only country that calls Football Soccer. editors note: and colour- color and Mum- Mom and .........
What's your favourite PDA and non-PDA web site and why?
My favorite PDA sites are Clie World, Memoware. My non favorites are CNN and NY Time. Of course, I have too many favorite Palm and PC Software sites to mention here.
